Currently the general contractor is putting the finishing touches on the University Center by installing decorative lights and wood accents. “The fully renovated University Center will be open to students on March 15, when they return from their spring break,” said Gregg Lassen, executive vice president of business affairs.

When the construction crews are finished, crews can begin moving in furniture, such as dining-style seating, comfy chairs and couches to sit on, Lassen said.

Lassen said the Barnes & Noble, Subway and Grillworks can then set up their stores and he anticipates the work on those areas to be completed by the opening of the UC.

Lassen said the parking spots in front of the UC are going to become accessible to students when the general contractor is finished.When students walk into the UC, the information desk and new auditorium is on the right. On the left are Barnes & Noble, Subway and Grillworks.

In the center atrium is the new coffee bar alongside the staircase. Services on the third floor include the testing center, supplemental instruction, the counseling center, student activities center, student government, meeting rooms and student study areas.
